Competition Style Double Dating

This weekend we went out with our friends Jessica and Adam for a double date.  The girls had the great idea to go to Cool Crest to play some miniature golf  and then to dinner afterwards.  The heated competition that resulted gave me a great idea for a fun and creative way to keep double dates from falling into the same old dinner and a movie routine.

The Date:  It should be a location that some sort of competition could take place.  Some more obvious choices would be a bowling alley, miniature or real golf course, pool hall etc.  Some other options would be having a best out of 5 games skeeball or video game competition at an arcade, head to one of those fun make-your-own pottery places and have an employee or impartial judge pick a winner from your creations, frisbee golf, nerf gun war, murder mystery dinner theater, darts, water balloon tossing contest etcetera etcetera.

The Prize:  The loser could buy dinner for the other couple or maybe just pick up the tip or buy the appetizer.  A trophy that passes back and forth would be fun as well.

Picking the next date:  The couple who loses will challenge the winners to their next date and will pick the location and competition as well.  This gives them the home team advantage and keeps me from choosing mini golf for every single date hehe.

Anyways I need to get back to painting but I just thought I’d share this while it was fresh in my brain.
