Review

This should have been the spicy lime infused beef jerky of my dreams.
But instead I am deeply sorry to say this jerky tasted like bland,
greasy, unsalted, strips of old shoe leather. My subtle palette
detected neither lime or even an attempt at heat.

2 thumbs down!

Happy Feet Soccer

I was able to go to Ryan's second soccer practice today. I came
complete with riot gear (in case of any crowd rushes) and even dusted
off my vuvuzela (which the coach took away from me). We had a great
time and it seems like Ryan may be destined for greatness.

Technology!

They just made this free. If someone steals my iPhone or iPad I can
locate it via gps and even wipe it or lock it to keep my info safe. I
tried it here at the house and it is dead on! Jessi will never lose
her phone again!

Glam Lan

Jessi threw an awesome party for me this weekend. She held up her end
of the bet but with a twist, throwing me a Glam LAN party complete
with glittery poetic fairy tale invitations, pink streamers, and
delicious pink cupcakes. We had delicious BBQ from Dickies and gamed
until the Wee hours.

Pete brought his xbox kinect which was a hit and we had several racing
wheel setups as well. Even Ryan and Seth got to do a little driving.

The event was awesome and I can't thank my wife enough. I'm also
indebted to James for all his help and his wife for giving up her
husband on her birthday weekend.

Toys

Why play with toys when you can be one!

Happy Birthday Caleb

We had a great time at T-Rex cafe. Even though Chad had to use his
captainly Command Presence on the manager we still had a blast. Ryan
built a Dino with the kids and Caleb even spent some birthday cash to
buy everyone Dino toys. What a charitable birthday boy!

Good Woman

You know you have a good one when she reloads for you while you drive.

We tried to go to the range a few days ago. Bought targets, more ammo, a new bigger clip, eye protection , ear plugs and drove wayyyyyy out into the middle of nowhere only to find out that my Grandad's old .30 Carbine rifle has a bad firing pin. Oh well the pictures were worth all the effort ;)

Yogurt love

He's getting really handy with that spoon. Kingsbury's develop eating skills really early it turns out.

New Do

Punk is back!

And he loves him some ice cream!

23 veggies and 4 hours of labor later...

We have squash pops! Ok not really ;). These are awesome little frozen veggie cubes that you can drop in stuff like macaroni and cheese to 'healthy it up' in stealth mode.

Props to Jessi for all her hard work.

Yum!

The simple joy of an ice cream cone.

R.A. Salvatore

Those of you who have known me for awhile now know about my good friend and long time roommate from my single days Ken (on the left).  Long ago Ken and I used to play an online computer game called EverQuest together.  We wasted many hours leveling our characters up and meeting people from all over the world.  At some point during our countless gaming sessions we ran into Bob Salvatore (right).  An extremely nice guy and fan of the game we all quickly became friends and had a lot of fun running through imaginary corridors of dungeons with names like Runneye Citadel and Unrest.

Like the rest of us, Bob had a day job, mainly to support his EverQuest addiction of course.  He liked to write books.  A LOT of books.  When I say a lot I mean he has published more books than Stephen King, think 50+ .  R.A. Salvatore Biography

Well my good friend Ken got a chance to finally meet him in flesh a few days ago.  He took a road trip to Chicago and got to shake hands with the man himself.  Did I mention that Bob named a character in one of his books after Ken's EverQuest character Tred Dingwater?

He promises to come to KC next year so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that we can get a chance to take him out and show him a night on the town while he is here.

Pumpkin Patch part deux

More pics!

Field trip to the pumpkin patch

It was the boy's first school field trip and it was awesome. The boys enjoyed a hayride , a petting zoo, a real train, play time in a really fun play area and even got to pick out their own pumpkins.
