Down by the River

Ryan had such a great time out here.  We'd get him up at 5:30am, stuff a Poptart into his hand and head out to the river till breakfast time.  Then we'd head back to the river around 10:30 and fish till lunch in the 95+ degree heat.  Eat some lunch, take a quick nap.  After dinner we'd be right back at the river at 6:30pm till they blew the whistle at 8:30pm.

We did that for 3 days and every time we weren't fishing Ryan was asking "Can we go fishing dad?".  Not bad for a 4 year old!

We had an awesome time and it was really fun to get to connect with my dad and brother.  This is really the first "Kingsbury Man-cation" we've ever had and I'd definitely label it a success.  Hopefully this opens the door for more such testosterone filled adventures in the future.

Bennet Springs

Ryan and I are on a 3 day adventure with my dad and brother Matthew.
We managed to smash bugs on the windshield, catch a caterpillar and
even convince a butterfly to land on Ryans hand. We've caught a few
trout already and are hoping to have a fish fry tomorrow night. Yum!

Caleb’s Championship Game

All hail the champs!

Jessi, the boys and I all loaded up to go see Caleb play in his championship game at the KC Baptist Temple ballfields in Raytown.

I ran into my old friend and Captain Gene Gray while I was out there and we had a great time nibbling on Gamma’s trail mix and watching the Caleb’s Cardinals destroy their adversary.

Here is Caleb running in the game winning run (ok he got the first run and they won 5-0 so does that make it the game winning run?)

Great job buddy!  We are so proud of you!  You looked great out there.

Look at him run!
