A long, long, time ago… I can still remember..

Matthew I can’t believe you are 18 now man.  I still have this picture on my locker at work from when you were 4 or 5 years old.  It seems like yesterday.  You’ve grown up into a man and I’m so proud of you.  I love being your big brother.

Mom and kiddos hit the road!

Jessi is a brave woman.  I thought I had the market cornered in that department by being on the fire department and all but I was wrong.  Picture this.  It is a nice sunny Thursday morning.  Your husband is at work for 24 hours and you have 2 crazy boys 1 and 3 rampaging around your house Godzilla style.  What do you do?  1. Turn the TV on elmo and pray they are distracted?  2.  Call mom and beg for “heeellllpp” or 3. Load them kids up and head to the zoo!

Well you can guess what she did.  And luckily after a fun filled day of lions, tigers, and bears (plus a realllly big snake Ryan tells me) they even decided to visit their dear old daddy at the fire station.  Woohoo!

Jessi is the Biggest Loser I know…This Week

Team Jessi is doing great this week and has lost another 1.2 lbs for a total of 5.2lbs lost.  Team Rob has been taken up with Birthday/Father’s Day slackery and only managed to lose 0.4 lbs this week bringing him up to a total of 8.6lbs lost. 

Next week will be better!  Dang you birthday cake! Dang you to heck!

Happy Birthday to me

I had an awesome relaxing birthday yesterday. Hung out with the
family, took a nice walk, ate lunch with mom and Jen and the kiddos. I
even got to finish up the night watching a comedy on blu ray.

Today in true fire dept tradition I made a birthday cake for the guys
at the station. 5 delicious cream cheese layers on top of strawberry
cake goodness. Yum!

And he finally manages pull himself up to standing. Of course it's to
get something he's not supposed to have ;)

1st Week Weight Loss Results

We weighed in this morning to some nice results

Team Rob - Lost 8.2 lbs
Team Jessi - Lost 4.0 lbs

Team Rob has picked up some momentum but is known for the complete inability to stay away from cake (and his birthday is tomorrow)

Team Jessi has lost more in a single week than she ever has before.  Her ability to stay motivated and steamroll through the lbs is legendary.

Thomas the Tank Engine

 

Today was a big day for Ryan. We met up with Nana and Dominic in Baldwin City KS to meet Thomas the Tank Engine. We played on the inflatable slide, numerous train tables, fed animals at the petting zoo, ate ice cream and even saw and rode Thomas.

 

Needless to say our little guys were wiped out after spending all day in the heat!

Fun day at Zona Rosa

Well the party may be over but yesterday was Ryans big 3rd birthday so
we went out for some water fun. A little splashing at Zona Rosa and a
tasty ice cream treat at Coldstone's capped a fun day.
